Hand protection at 3,000 bar — the level almost nothing else reaches

In ultra-high-pressure water jetting the hand is the body part closest to the jet and the
most frequently injured. Most protective ranges stop at the jacket, trousers and coverall;
hand protection tested to 3,000 bar (43 kpsi) is offered by only a
handful of manufacturers worldwide. The Safetech UAP Ultra glove
(HU-LV-UAP-UF-UN) is one of them.

The glove is part of the UAP Ultra system and carries the same protection level as the
jacket, trousers and coverall of that range. It covers the hand and the whole forearm, closes
against the jacket sleeve with two wide hook-and-loop straps, and leaves no gap at the wrist —
the classic weak point of water jetting PPE.

Certified, not just claimed

The UAP Ultra protection levels were independently tested by Intertek,
an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory, and certified by TÜV Nord under
document TNBR 30128 — at 75 mm stand-off and 0.5 m/s traverse speed, the
conditions a real operator works in. Safetech is also the only manufacturer of water jetting
protective clothing with its own in-house test bench, which is used up to
3,100 bar (45 kpsi).
